The project empowers young people to understand and respond to unsustainable consumption patterns, especially food waste, overconsumption, and the environmental impact of the food industry. Through non-formal and experiential learning, participants explore how everyday habits such as shopping, cooking, eating, and wasting food are connected to wider global challenges including climate change, pollution, inequality, and industrial food production.
Bite Into Change combines practical activities, reflection, intercultural exchange, and digital tools to make sustainability accessible and relevant for young people aged 18–30. Participants from Austria, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will develop practical skills such as reducing food waste, meal planning, plant-based cooking, creative food reuse, and awareness campaigning, while also strengthening teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and their role as multipliers in their local communities.
